marty01 -> Some Map Issues (10/18/2021 10:14:51 PM)

Just played through another solitaire game of the 1941 - 45 campaign as the Allies. I noticed the following map issues/oddities: 1. The Japanese AI invaded Ceylon -- circa-1943. This actually a pleasant surprise coming from the AI. A Japanese infantry division remained suspended in the Ocean Hex at 15,50 near the port of Jaffna. No Japanese naval units near it. It remained there for probably 4 or 5 turns until I finally recaptured the port of Jaffna. After which it vanished. 2. A US Army (non-Marine Unit) became stranded on the beach hex at 18,61 -- near the minor port of Weda east of Celebes. I invaded the beach hex thinking I could move the one intervening hex the next turn and attack the Japanese garrison unit at Weda. However, the unit was frozen on the beach hex. I couldn't move it and I couldn't withdrawal it from the beach and it was of course out of supply so I couldn't disband it. I eventually just let it die from lack of supply. 3. I used a US Army Inf. Division to help the Chinese Cap the peninsula near the port of Haikon. Seaborne invasion. The unit became frozen in place at hex 48,61. I was able to attack out the hex but I couldn't move the unit. I am wondering if there is a rule against non-Chinese Allied units for entering China -- with the apparent exception of Manchuria/Manchukuo? It remained in supply -- drawing from the Port of Haikon after its capture. 4. Similar to the above -- except this time it was a Chinese army that moved into Burma. It moved two hexes into Burma and then became frozen in place on hex 33,61. I was actually planning on sending two Chinese Armies into Burma. But the second army would not cross the boarder. The stranded Chinese unit remained in supply but also remained frozen in place. I believe the first Chinese army advanced after a successful attack on a Japanese unit on one of the boarder hexes between China and Burma. So it advanced into the vacated hex after the Japanese unit retreated and still had enough movement pts to move to the second hex from the boarder. The next turn is when I noticed it was now frozen in place. 5. I invaded the Port Arthur peninsula with a couple of US Marine Divisions. After capturing Port Arthur I then sent one of the Marine divisions across the narrow strait to the south using regular Marine Movement -- i.e. crossing a lt-blue sea hexside but not via use of a landing ship. The unit became frozen in-place on hex 60,80 -- just east of Tsingtao. It was out of normal supply. I ended up having to shuttle supplies across the strait from Port Arthur every turn using a US DD Division.
