An Israeli scuba diver has salvaged an ancient sword off the country's Mediterranean coast that experts say dates back to the Crusaders.
...
“It was found encrusted with marine organisms, but is apparently made of iron,” said Nir Distelfeld, an inspector in the authority's robbery prevention unit. “It is exciting to encounter such a personal object, taking you 900 years back in time to a different era, with knights, armor and swords.”

Crusader sword found

If only that sword could talk and tell us about its owner, the places it had been.

Too bad they did not put something in the picture to show the scale of the sword. It looks a little short in blade compared to handle to be a knight's sword. From the "Forged in Fire" series about blacksmithing weapons, that sword shape appears to be like an Italian gentleman's sword that has a wide blade at the hilt with a rapid narrowing to the tip. It has two fullers (the indented channels that make the blade lighter) but that sword in the picture is too encrusted to see such detail. I only hope the salt water has not corroded it too badly.

Thanks for sharing, OldSarge. I find it fascinating when an item of antiquity is discovered.

Yeah, I'm fascinated by these old relics as well, it fuels the imagination.

Apparently, the sword is described as being about a meter in length. That is just about the size of a Medieval Arming Sword

Yes If 900 years old sword maybe used against Seljuk Turks found in Israel coast. Although I somehow believe the source of these news and believe in science&history overall there is always chance for manupulation.
