Majorball68 -> Isolated units bug v04.03.00.00 (10/23/2021 10:55:36 PM)

A change in version 04.02.02.00 saw the isolated units determination amended to this 'For the optional rule Isolated Units, reduced the maximum distance for a unit to avoid being isolated from 50 hexes to 10 hexes. Units that are out of supply and more than 10 hexes from a supply source are now isolated. This change was to improve the response time when moving units.'

In the save attached the CW units in Algiers should not be isolated and should have been able to be re orged during the oil stage. Even the CW AT gun in Tunisia is within 10 hexes of a HQ which can trace supply. The CW units in Algiers should not even be out of supply. I don't think this was the intention of the change. A supply source should be a HQ that can trace a supply path. Had similar issues near Persia but thought nothing of it until now.

I can't see how HQ Gort or any of the CW units in Algeria or Tunisia are in supply. With no convoys in the Mediterranean all your North African supply is from Casablanca and along the rail line until Bone. Your CW forces are out of supply as long as the Axis hold Tunis and block the rail line to Gabes and no convoys in the Western Med.

2.4.2
A supply path, basic or railway, can be up to 4 hexes. Each desert, or desert mountain, hex your supply path enters counts as 1 extra hex.

Supply path is 4 hexes not 10. I believe the 10 hex reference is for rail portion of supply path.

This is a bug. The units in Algiers cooperate with the US. Eisenhower (who is in supply) is 4 hexes from Algiers, weather is fine. So the CW units in Algeria should not be isolated. Also, the units in Tunesia should be able to reorganise too.

My bad, you are correct, Eisenhower can supply the CW units Algeria and the CW Tunisian forces are not isolated so they should be able to reorganize. Gort is unsupplied though
