ernieschwitz -> New Scenarios (10/29/2021 6:14:07 PM)

I was wondering if anyone here plays my scenarios (found in the scenario bank). I don't get much feedback, or reviews, although those I get are positive. I would love to hear other peoples opinions on what I have done, and could do in the future. Therefore this thread.

Also I might be working on several projects, and although I make my scenarios for my own enjoyment, encouraging words, and such always help feed the process :)

I enjoy all your scenario's, especially the Chinese diplomacy one. I would love to see a WW 1 scenario on the scale of GD1938.

Twotribes -> RE: New Scenarios (10/30/2021 5:14:55 AM)

I have them but pretty much only play GD1938 right now, wish you would revisit civil war 2

danlongman -> RE: New Scenarios (10/30/2021 2:01:06 PM)

I have enjoyed your work immensely especially the Civil War 2 and random
game generators. I have made good use of most of the stuff you have put
out for us to play with. I have many, many games but I have put more time
into your variants than many other game by at least a factor of three to one.

Thanks for those words :) I really appreciate it :)

Thanks :)

The Chinese Diplomacy one was interesting to make. :)

I know your not the only one wishing that I would revisit the 2nd Civil War. It was a highly complex scenario to make. Also one of my early attempts at making the AI better. I had wished to make it more of a sandbox version too, but that never materialized, mostly cause of the difficulty making what it was up to that point.

Not being able to find what was causing those errors was one of the reasons it never got completely done :(

cpdeyoung -> RE: New Scenarios (11/1/2021 7:29:08 PM)

I am sure many of you know I love GD1938.

But do you know about European Diplomacy Remastered? It is more fun than a barrel of monkeys. The AI is fully functional and the turns are quick.

Seriously, let's lobby for a full world map! (In his spare time) [:)]

Chuck

Twotribes -> RE: New Scenarios (11/1/2021 7:36:59 PM)

In the one I played no one could ally,

Actually nothing is wrong with that. The title of the game is European Diplomacy Remastered. The original is European Diplomacy made by Tweber (Tom Weber). He never had an option to ally. Instead the idea of the whole scenario is to provide a gaming experience in the European area. European Diplomacy I believe refers to the board game, of the same name, which involves a lot of backstabbing, and no real alliances. I am sorry for the confusion the title may have caused - it was not the intent.

Thanks Chuck,

Yes, I really enjoyed making that one. I did have some help from Ormand, who I believed I did credit with his officer graphics. As for the world map... We'll see...

cpdeyoung -> RE: New Scenarios (11/1/2021 8:21:55 PM)

European Diplomacy Remastered

Poor France is under attack by Germany, Italy, and Spain, but Spain has the prize : Paris.

ernieschwitz -> RE: New Scenarios (11/3/2021 1:56:40 PM)

The reason for all this asking is that I actually have made a campaign, which is 2/3s finished, but I am not sure I am going to finish it. Still what I have is very much playable. Would anyone want to try it?

Twotribes -> RE: New Scenarios (11/3/2021 6:46:19 PM)

Campaign of what? You know I love playtesting your stuff usually

The German 6th Army's exploits. From Belgium to Stalingrad. However I have only made up to Case Blue, as I recall. It is an improved version of the one Tweber has in the scenario bank.

ernieschwitz -> RE: New Scenarios (11/4/2021 6:36:28 PM)

A few Screenshots from the first scenario: Against the Belgians. The Picture is of the starting positions of elements of the 6th Army, located in Aachen and around. Also notice the parachutists in Eben Emal.

ernieschwitz -> RE: New Scenarios (11/4/2021 6:45:59 PM)

Due to the limits of the things that can be transferred from Scenario to Scenario, in a campaign, there are unfortunately several features of ATG that cannot be enabled. The campaign system simply predates these features. These are the unique way ATG uses TO&E, Officers and Models.

Thus I tried instead to use the symbols ATG offered me, in the form of NATO counters, that were connected to the Subformations. So a unit will show the symbol from the ones in the unit, whichever has more "weight". In some cases (like the motorcycles above) there is no symbol (so that is why they are shown as infantry).

Other than that unit construction is accurate, and the OOB is accurate too.

ernieschwitz -> RE: New Scenarios (11/4/2021 6:51:25 PM)

Later in the campaign you can upgrade your troops, to the newer equipment, that you can use the PPs you get from each scenario as rewards, or the ones you earn during the scenario. You can also buy more troops, between scenarios, if you wish, also costing PPs.

Here are some of Soviet troops, that you will oppose later in the game.

ernieschwitz -> RE: New Scenarios (11/4/2021 6:53:49 PM)

In a sense I've taken the best from ATG and attempted to merge with some of the DC features. Map is made up of Ormands excellent 4 seasons graphics.

Anyone willing to take if for a spin?

That is way WAY more sub-units than what I have seen in ATG when playing myself. What is the scale?

ernieschwitz -> RE: New Scenarios (11/4/2021 9:39:06 PM)

Actually it's a one to one scale, but I used a multiplier on each unit type. So infantry for instance is grouped in 100s :)

ernieschwitz -> RE: New Scenarios (11/6/2021 1:00:21 PM)

Well. I guess if someone is willing to try, I better put up a link for where to download it.

ernieschwitz -> RE: New Scenarios (11/6/2021 1:50:40 PM)

Oh, and before I forget. Remember to leave feedback for me :) Positive or constructive, are both ok :)

ernieschwitz -> RE: New Scenarios (11/10/2021 2:01:19 AM)

A small overview of what the Campaign contains. Each box is a scenario, they are grouped into 3 connected year-campaigns, and are done in the order displayed.

So first you would be playing "Against the Belgians" then followed by "To the Sea".. and so on. The last scenario in the campaign would be "Final Stand", where you would see if you could break out of Stalingrad, and perhaps thus not make it a final stand :)

Between each scenario there is a small break, in which you can buy more troops, reorganize and such. Who knows, maybe you had a division that was hit especially hard, and needs reinforcements. Maybe you want more Panzers (who doesn't?) Or perhaps you want to experiment with a completely different TO&E.

Between each campaign year there is also a small break. Here you can research new technology, upgrade units as well as purchase new formations. Tired of those Pz I and IIs, ... well perhaps you can now beef them up with some better ones.

Note: The scenarios in red boxes have yet to be completely made. Thus the campaign is incomplete.

Twotribes -> RE: New Scenarios (11/10/2021 3:50:51 PM)

I don't see how to start the campaign when I download it makes a directory with all the scenarios and the interludes but no start for the campaign
