goodwoodrw -> A couple of questions re: movement and recon (11/26/2021 5:24:39 AM)

Movement in chapter 4.2.6 it suggests 2 types of movement, march and combat, there no reference to what keys to use in this para, nor in the hot keys section.
Secondly, Recon, sect 4.3 I have only looked at a few small scenarios but I haven't come across any Recon units, are there recon units in the game, considering recon plays a large part in the new rules it would disappointing not to have this type of with special recon attributes,
Any assistance would appreciated on either topic.

See page 28 of the manual.

3.4.4 Bottom Window
B - Movt Mode - Combat or March

At the scale it is presumed all units/battalions have recon units in play, so all units have recon ability.

Actually started up the US campaign and I have found some recon units however their recon attribute is no different to most units unless I am ready how it works incorrectly

There are recon units on the German side as well, though they are few. German for recon is Aufklarung, I think the designation on the unit is "Auf" or "Aufk". I think I saw one in the 1th SS.

There are recon units in the game, yes. The german name is Aufklärungsabteilung (Aufkl. Abt.).

I think recon troops can be handy. In DC:A, they don't generate any more recon points than ordinary units. But they're more readily available. Sometimes you don't want to move your ordinary units around too much (for fear of giving up all your accumulated entrenchment or spending too much readiness). And recon units are usually motorized, so you can shift them around flexibly to the place you need just a few more extra recon points.

I have a localized and adjusted tropptypes and models library availabe for the German with, as good as it gets, the proper German military abbreviations and terminology.
