I would have used the term UBer but I am speaking of US troops;)

Just completed Skyline drive.

I gotta say, those Americans are some super troops. To get serious, I have run across some seriously whacked defensive stands.

20 engs, 20 rear area troops with 2 57 mm at guns in the open, default entrenchment since they had just moved of 26, I attack with a 2nd pzr. bn mot. of 590 men, 61 ap's, plenty of supply, result, at 5:1, they lose 1 gun, I lose 20 men....I have ran it 3 times...basically same results.

Far form the first time I see results that just dont make sense to me, another example; I had a US tank co. 18 shermans and few other tanks in the open, default entrenchment, surrounded completely by 3 mid-large size bns in good shape plus ancillary units in Westwall, and it took me 4 turns to reduce them.......

Oh and after a battle, there was one baooka guy left and he ran around I dont have to say it right, he blocked/zoc'ed a road breaking my supply for a turn....I mean seriously.

I also had this - 1 guy - (in my case 10 "Nachtruppen") running around and causing trouble problem. Very unreal. Shouldn´t occur.

There should be some sort of 'overrun' rule, yes. Sometimes and handful of hastily organized remnants seem to have super powers and stall a multi-battalion attack.

Klink, Oberst

Perhaps as the 10 soldiers of Oberst Arthur Jüttner (during Ardennes commander 164.Volksgrenadier Rgt. in 62.VGD) that survived Bagration trekking for 700km in 44 days !

Davide

-----------------------------------------------------------

".....breaking out of the Bobruisk encirclement, Jüttner and his Regiment (532.rgt/383.ID.) once again formed the rearguard and held the northern edge of Bobruisk for the whole day.
After splitting up his force into many small Kampfgruppen, he then began an epic march via Minsk and Baranowitschi to reach friendly lines. Leading his own small group, which trekked 700 km over the course of 44 days of uninterrupted small battles, on the 18.08.1944 he reached the existing frontline near Augustowo. That night he broke through the Soviet line with 3 officers and 8 men and finally reached friendly lines.
For his actions during many brave and selflessly conducted engagements, he would be awarded the Oakleaves (622nd Award).

You'll find plenty of hardy US army units, mainly the 1st and 2nd IDs in the Elsenborn scenario, have fun with that one!

Yea, actually thats the last one I am playing before diving into the Big One.....and like I guess almost all of us, we've studied these battle etc., the 1st was elite and the 2nd div. was a top notch unit but not quite the big red one but close......and the terrain is god awful...
