abulbulian -> Japan Airframe Production 7/43 ?? (12/1/2021 6:19:59 AM)

I'm starting up an 8 year old game as Japan and I noticed that last turn I only produced 20 planes of all models. That seems very poor? Guessing I screwed up something with production, but can't remember what it was or if even I knew about it 8 years ago. How can I tell where the bottle necks are? They are a few red 'X' in the industry screen but it's hard to understand still what I might need to fix/adjust.

I see plenty of fuel in cities around Tokyo, but for some reason Tokyo is complaining about fuel. Am I wrong to assume fuel from other cities on mainland Japan connect by rail with a large surplus of fuel will try and send it to Tokyo that needs it?

I guess it could be engines, but think I have a surplus in most models. Will look closer.

Thanks

Yeah, think it might be engines. Only produced 2 x HA-45 and 5 X HA-35 engines last turn. About avg 2-3 for some other various models. The exceptions was 10 x HA-32 engines. So what is the best way to fix engine shortages? Expand all these needed engine producing factories as much as possible? Why not? Assuming they are not the ones with red 'X's by them...

I do have a lot of factories making HA-32 engines, but there are only 7 in the pool and they are needed for my GM41 Betty assembly (3 a turn at this point). I don't really see any engines that I'm making that are not needed or have excessive pools.

Side question, is Fukuoka not connected by rail in mainland Japan?

LeeChard -> RE: Japan Airframe Production 7/43 ?? (12/1/2021 10:23:07 AM)

That would be about 600 planes/month in one day turns.
It doesn't sound unreasonable to me.

Hit "R" when looking at the map if I remember correctly.

Determine your needs per month per engine and make sure that you are making enough before you change anything. This includes any research engine bonuses that you might want, which you should want . . .

Then adjust your engine production as needed. If I remember correctly, the HA-35 engine is used in many aircraft which get replaced by other models which do not use it.

I'm still waiting for somebody to write "The Definitive Guide to Japanese Aircraft Research". At least i'm doing better in my 2nd PBEM than i am in my first one.

1943 Aircraft? I'm in early April '43.

IJN:
FT - i chose the A6M5 have had it since '42 and it's good enough. Got the George N1K1-J early '43 and it's good enough.
TB - got the B6N1 Jill in '42 and am now almost complete on CVs with B6N2s. Grace is due in Dec '43
DB - got the D4Y1 Judy late '42 and am now building the D4Y3. D4Y4 probably Dec '43
LB - I just build only G3M3 Nells since '42. P1Y1 Frances is due in May '43

IJA:
FT - I've had the Oscar IIa and Tojo IIc since '42. Oscar IV is building now. Ki-84a is due in May '43.
LB - I just build KI-21-II sallys. Never built a Ha-34 engine. Peggy T is due in Sep '43.
FB - I just build KI-45a Nick's since early '42

never thought twice about the Lily

I have no idea if i'm doing this right

Y for railways, R for roads.

On the stock map it is connected, the track goes south east and then goes across a 'bridge' to Shimonoseki. Looking at the usual mercator projection it is east-noreast, passing south of Kitakyushu, and hooks north-norwest across the narrow strait, so the projection used in the game map works to depict that.

I have never used a different map mod, so if you are on one of those, you need to examine it with the Y key on.

You are correct, I have not opened my game for awhile. I have been doing other things . . .
