Thanks for reading it. I first read Ross S. Carter's book about 50 years ago when I was casting lead soldiers in the garage and playing table top war games. The irony of life struck me on realising that Ross had fought in all the 82nd Airborne's actions in Italy, France, Holland and Belgium. He was one of only three out of the original 30 or so in his platoon to survive the war. Two years later he dies of cancer. What a pisser life is.
