After all of the recent changes, Operation Broken Shield now seems to be experiencing some problems with many of its missions. About 8-10 of the missions reveal a "something's wrong" message that states that the mission could not launch. It further states that if it doesn't launch within 5 minutes then the mission will be scrubbed. The missions doe not launch, and they are scrubbed. Additionally, I've noticed some Israeli aircraft armed with ground penetrating bombs, but they are assigned on a SEAD Patrol Mission. The scenario used to be very stable, and was lots of fun to play. Now, it could use a tune up.

Another issue with Broken Shield. One of the things that the Israeli side strives for is to knock out the Syrian IDS. This means that all of the units are in a NO COMM status. Well, when the Fetehs finally launch, they are all shot down by the Syrian SAM units along the way. Since the SAMs are in a NO COMM status, and the Fetehs aren't recognized, they are believed to be hostile. I can understand this, but the Fetehs are moving from east to west (away from Syria and toward Israel) so the SAMs should know that these aren't Israeli missiles. In any case, the grand attack against Israel never happens as the Syrians shoot down their own ABMs.

I did some more research, and Strike November 06 and Strike November 07 are two of the groups that have problems. The issue is that one of the two planes of the 2-plane group is not quite ready to take off. A check of their ready time indicates that they have 8 and 13 more minutes before they are ready, but the TIME ON TARGET (TOT) has determined that it needs to take off NOW in order to be where it needs to be to conduct the attack at the appropriate time. The message indicated that each flight will be cancelled if it does not take off in 5 minutes. Since the prerequisite to take off is set to having 2-planes in the group, and the ready time is longer than 5 minutes, each of the missions is cancelled. An adjustment needs to be made to these two planes which keeps these wo missions from taking off.

Here are a few more Missions that won't fly because the timing is off, just like was previously reported: Tango 06 Echo 05 Tango 01 Additionally, several of the SEAD Mission aircraft are loaded with Penetrating bombs, instead of anti-radiation missiles. These are minor in nature, and can be fixed easily enough by changing the ready times for the aircraft, and by changing the loadout for the SEAD aircraft, (if that is what they are actually supposed to be.) It's a really fun scenario, and I would highly recommend it.
