Strategicon -> RE: Ground attack issue (12/13/2021 4:07:55 PM)

I did a new test: The box drawn contained 18 ground units ; 20 strikes were ordered with the necessary planes. All all target priorities were on "ignore" except "unit" on high so that strikes only resolve in ground unit bombardment, interdiction effects should only be collateral. the launch has been on turn 1 (day 2) before the ground phase. Soviet units therefore did not move either. * first thing: the missions are not sent on the 18 ground units but only on the hexagons which are containing ground units ; in this test 15 hexagons * second thing : the excess strikes are sent in strike of interdiction on empty hexagons ; in this case 20 strikes ordered for 15 hexes containing ground units, therefore 5 empty hexes were processed by the number of strikes remaining (to do interdiction since they were empty) * of the 15 strikes targeting the 15 hexagons containing ground units 12 were interdiction strikes (without any bombardment of the units contained in the hexagon), and only three ground units were the target of a bombardment. That is to say 20% bombardment of ground units and 80% air interdiction, without counting the 5 additional strikes "above" the 15 targets containing ground units which were conducted by default as an air interdiction When a target category has been set to "ignore" raids should focus on priority targets above ignore, or do I miss something ? Collateral interdiction is right, the calculation of the targets being done by the number of hexagons containing units and not by the number of units is also ok, but having to count the number of hexagons containing ground units to set the number of strikes required as well as the problem of the very high percentage (80%) of air interdiction (although set to "ignore") compared to that of the bombardment of land units (20%) (which was the only target priority set in the air directive) seems to me inappropriate. I don't know if you still want my save game from this test, but if you do, I don't know how to send it to you. Regards
