My basic understanding is that as the USSR "fights" their default unit experience which starts at 30 slowly will go up. Does anyone know what "fights" really means? Is it based on the number of battles? Number of losses? Number of kills? Attacking vs defending? Is it cumulative across the game or do they need to "fight" a certain amount each turn?

Just trying to understand what I should be doing with the USSR units in order to make sure the default experience slowly increases towards 50. Don't need to know the formulas but knowing the basic parameters that impact it would be helpful.

They gain expierence from defending when attacked and from attacking.

Bumping this back up. Any more insight on this?

From what I see every time a unit fight it might gain experience for itself. And for low level experience units, they do seem to gain much faster than already well experienced units.

For national experience, from what I saw, every battle has a chance to improve national experience by 1 (up to 50%). I saw no pattern other that having to fight a battle. Loses, defending vs attacking etc. does not seem to impact from what I saw. My guess would be that a fixed small chance to increase it is rolled every battle.

Ok. That is very good to know. Thanks!
