I am currently playing a PBEM game and have run into a problem having the game recognize me as the current player. We are on turn 7 and have had no problems to date. The problem started when I had a question about a game situation. I decided to answer my question by starting a multiplayer hot seat game against myself to set up the situation I was curious about. When I tried to return to my PBEM game, I now get the error message "The Users on this System are not Authorize to Load this Saved Game."
I do notice that the Multi-Player panel now defaults to Hot seat multi-play and my Email User Handle no longer is available. I also notice the btruser.dat file got updated (the time stamp on the file got updated to today). I tried to reenter my PBEM info on the Multi-Player panel without success.
Please note that I was able to transfer the game from my desktop computer to my laptop while I am on travel by transferring the btruser.dat file from the desktop to my laptop. I highly suspect that I can restart the game on my desktop computer when I get home, but am wondering whether there is an easy way to recover playing the game on my laptop.
Does anyone have a suggestion about how to continue my PBEM game on my laptop?
