Thorgrimm -> Worst Japanese First Turn Port Strikes, Ever (12/19/2021 11:38:45 PM)

I just started a new game as the Japanese, and I must say, the RNG of this strike was so bad that it took my breath away. [X(]

After both strikes the only thing bottomed was the New Orleans CA Sqdn. However, NOTHING was sunk... [X(]

Then in the followup strikes on Manila and Singapore the strikes only bottomed the Houston CA Sqdn, and once again, nothing was sunk. This opening set of strikes were so bad that I felt that I had to restart the game.

Has anybody else had such a bad set of port strikes in the opening move? Moreover, if so, did you continue the game or restart?

Cheers, Thor

That sucks, I have had it almost that bad, I'm not sure it is that big of a deal since the big ships that you want to sink are carriers and they are nowhere to be found, the argument could be made which some historians do that Japan would have been better served not port striking Pearl and waiting for the US fleet to venture in to open waters then sink them that way sunk is sunk no risk of bottoming

See it as a challenge.

Alvaro, just as a design question, when an RNG call is made by the engine do you use a new seed each time the call is made? Or does the engine generate a ton of rolls and then just follow that list as the RNG calls are made?

Cheers, Thor
