Re: http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=105949

Tried adding to that thread but could not. Product sales is bad news with Matrix:

Credit card purchase is, for me at least, broken.

Always the same lame message about "problem with customer information".

Makes one wonder how many sales Matrix is losing because their order system doesn't work

I don't even have desire to contact support on this. Whatever sales software is being used is a bad deal for Matrix, and I won't waste my time going through support channels for someone to sell me a product. Matrix or whoever needs to fix this and they might see more sales.

Not a good show at all.

Cheers

sign up to paypal, that may work.

cathar1244 -> RE: Sales issues (12/29/2021 3:08:49 PM)

mainsworthy,

Thank you for the suggestion.

The "struggle" to attempt to purchase the software has killed my wish to purchase it.

I've put up this thread as a courtesy to Matrix. Per the thread I referenced, this problem has existed at least since June. May be an on-and-off thing and may only affect a few customers.

But it directly impacts the bottom line, and shouldn't still exist after six months of the issue being raised.

Enjoy the New Year!

Cheers

I know its a bind, but Id rather matrix was safe to shop rather than letting loopholes exist, and if you sign up to paypal you will be ok, i say this because matrix games are uneaqe and if you want them you have to fit in with the problems. I know its annoying it happened to me about 10 years ago when i started useing a new antivirus, it also happened on battlefront, so rather than deactivating av i use paypal and all is fine now. happy new year,

cathar1244 -> RE: Sales issues (12/29/2021 3:59:44 PM)

If it an issue of safe transactions, then Matrix should remove the credit card payment option on their sales page, because it appears to be nonfunctional, at least as far as I can tell. And that makes me wonder where my credit card information went if it wasn't used to enable purchase of products. Hopefully into a bit bucket.

But I suspect there is more going on here than antivirus. My AV did not alert at all. Something is broken with the sales software, and that should not be an issue that exists months on end.

Cheers

i believe your not getting this resolved by matrix, is maybe its a bank problem and it may be upto you to contact the bank or something, I have had that in the past too, you have to jan 10th to buy, so they may fix it when they get back of holidays, i think their all off work now

cathar1244 -> RE: Sales issues (12/29/2021 4:16:08 PM)

Nah, card works fine everywhere else -- on internet and on physical locations.

So I tried to see if I could order through the Slitherine site versus Matrix, but putting the order in with Matrix and its dysfunction meant my coupon discount got eaten up ("already used" although it got me nothing).

Multiple layers of broken here.

But its okay. If I really want to buy games software, I'll find something somewhere else.

Cheers

i believe banks sometimes block web sales to a single site untill you confirm its legit, but they dont even tell you, you have to contact bank and ask, ive had this too, so your not alone, happy new year

RangerJoe -> RE: Sales issues (12/29/2021 5:05:18 PM)

I may also depend on the card if it is an out of the country purchase.

Greetings cathar1244,
Just purchased World in Flames using paypal and no problems. Serial number auto entered at my page and now downloading.
I still use credit card with other websites but just paypal for matrix.

Hi rommel222.

I hear you. But something is wrong with the situation here.

We have a firm (Matrix) that sells games to stay in business.

Yet, they offer a purchase option (credit cards) that doesn't appear to work.

I'm sure paypal works fine, but I have no desire to get a paypal account just to purchase Matrix products. While I believe that Matrix produces good games, for me, they are not -so- good that I want to get a special payment method for them when my credit card works just fine for everything else.

To be sure, that mentality on my part is "my problem". But not really when I consider what the bottom line of any firm is.

Like I said, it is okay; I'll be fine without any new games [8D]

I am just rather surprised that Matrix finds this dysfunction acceptable.

Best wishes for a Happy New Year 2022!

Cheers

I've been complaining about BlueSnap (or whatever Matrix's payment processor is for years, but they seem completely OK with the situation. For years Bluesnap would retain your credit card info even if you checked the box for them not to do so (they probably still do that, dunno). Matrix did...nothing... It's sad that Matrix has so little respect for its customers' concerns about data privacy.
