Alex Gee -> Where to buy? (9/16/2003 2:38:15 AM)

Hey,

I'm one of those guys that doesn't like to buy stuff off of the internet, if I can help it. I've been looking around for this game at some local stores but can not find it. (Did see Korsun Pocket at EB). Did any of you not get this game off the Matrix Games website, or not off the internet at all? If so where did you find it? I live near Seattle, Washington USA, I did a search on the subjuect and only saw one post from a guy in Germany who didn't buy it off the website. If push comes to shove I will buy direct from Matrix Games. One question though, this game is getting a little old, yet its still 50 bucks? aw man I was hoping for a little discount, haha.

I've seen it at Fry's Electronics, I think.. give them a try, if you have one near you. 50$ is definatly still pretty steep, I agree.

I think the logic behind the 50$ price tag is a die hard wargamer intrested in the subject will definatly buy UV if the price is within reason, but a casual gamer probably wouldnt buy it even if it was 30$. So why not get that extra 20 bucks from someone who's going to buy it anyway.

I bet they're waiting for WitP to release before the UV price drops, and who knows when that'll be, it could be a long wait. For what it's worth though, if you like the subject of UV you will not be dissapointed. I love reading through history books and looking at the UV to see the same units in the same places and such. If I payed a dollar for every hour I spent with UV, I'd be up arround 500 bucks.

My opinion is it's worth it, if you have a strong intrest in PTO WW2.

Alex Gee -> thanks (9/18/2003 6:48:25 AM)

Thanks guys for the replies and help, I'll probably order it next week, not sure form where yet though. I've been looking at UV for a long time and I'm sure I'll enjoy it. I usually don't buy games on a whim unless they are in the bargain bin for $10 and its something I've heard of before. Anyway, great forum here, the fact that I got helpfull replies from the kind of question I asked shows it. I'll be sure to get involved once I get the game.

Alex Gee -> Hey man I agree (9/19/2003 8:03:14 AM)

Yeah, I agree too, I will buy it from Matrix Games Website, just not yet. School is just starting up, and I've got to settle into my new place and all. I know the wargaming scene. I bought Combat Mission from Battlefront a few weeks after it came out. Money matters though, and I'll have to wait, maybe a week maybe more. Bargain hunting isn't bad, I've picked up some great games that way, Sub Command, Commandos 2 (I know it isn't "wargaming" but I think its fun and thats what matters).

What I meant is that I don't buy games unless I know they are going to be good, I don't go to the store and just buy games, unless its for 10 bucks and its something I am interested in or have considered purchasing before.

I guess the point you were making is that we need to support the companies that make these "niche" games, and I agree. Hell I've put a fair amount of my hard earned money to these smaller operations like matrix and battlefront. The last little part of my first post was more of a joke than anything. I know you weren't flaming me or anything, so I guess I'm taking a bit of a defensive pousture to your post, so in closing all I will say is your absolutely right. Oh and I won't reply any more to this thread, its lived its usefullness to me.

Thanks Again

Gee
