Yep. Allows you to simulate Airborne Scouts, Airborne Mortars, Airborne Artillery, Airborne Engineers, etc. I believe that the suppression from the drop depends in decent part on the unit's experience. When I've dropped my SNLF across the board, I've noticed that the ATR's, FG's, and other miscellenia who do not have the experience bonus (or aren't otherwise well-trained/experienced) usually turn out a bit the worse for wear.
