Redpossum -> What do the leader stats actually do? (1/23/2022 11:02:54 PM)

TTSIA
I'm running version 228b, purchased on Steam a couple weeks ago.

Leaders have three stats called Staff, Combat, Morale, the first being an absolute number and the latter two being percentages.

I've checked the manual. and it has nothing. I checked the wiki at VR Designs, and it's just a shell - it only has like 5 or 6 pages.

Experimenting with Leaders, the Staff function doesn't seem to do anything at all. In a game I'm playing right now, HQ Northwest shows STF 122%. So I go to Officer Pool and relieve the leader. Now HQ Northwest has no leader and it still shows 122%

Is it some other staff function, like experience gain or something?

What about Combat and Morale?

Yes, I get that it's an ancient game and not played that much anymore. I can see that many of the posts here are from 2011. If nobody really remembers anymore, it's cool. The world moves on. I've just been driving myself crazy looking for answers.

Thanks for reading

Before I answer, I need to clarify something.

The amount of staff (the subformation type) and their STF % decide how much of a bonus that a unit gets.

The stat Combat, shows how much of a bonus (or malus, you can have terrible leaders) that is applied on top of that bonus. The same goes for Morale.

However, the bonus only applies to the Staff (stat) amount of Staff (Subformation).

And yeah, the game has some legs, but we are still some people that have a passion for it :)
