Nirosi -> Question for Alvaro (1/25/2022 9:46:34 PM)

Hi Alvaro,

Originally there was a result called shattered that could be due either to high odds or long retreat (over 2 hexes). The unit would be removed for good but some PPs would come back depending on the exact reason of the shatter.

Now this has been split between shattered (due to long retreat over 3 hexes now) and the result is that the unit goes to the queue and overrun where the unit is removed for good.

This means obviously that the new overrun result is the former shattered due to high odds. However, the manual was limiting shattered due to high odds to 7vs1 or better. And the higher the odds the better the chances. Now we seem them often enough at 6vs1 and 5vs1. I have also witnessed it twice at 4vs1. At first, I thought that it might be due to the planes adding new odds since the patch that we do not see on the results, however they do happen (6vs1 or less) even in the absence of planes or naval support in the combat.

So, I want to make sure it is not a bug as I did not find any change in the updates to lower the 7vs1 requirement.

I could swear I had seen overrun at any odds...but it was rarer at lower odds.
Also I am not confident that the air is adding into the odds display calculation.

I often see my land units have a 3 to 1 against a weak say 2str unit...
I add a plane that should add 4 attack to go to 5 to 1 but the odds in the display stay 3 to 1.

I know naval updates the display and odds but never see air do that.

Try it.

Set to attack a 1 str unit with say a 5 str unit...you should have 5 to 1 odds...add a plane and you only ever see 5 to 1 odds.
Add naval bombardment you will see the odds change.

NOT saying air is not working...just saying the display does not appear to adjust for the added air combat.

I noticed this myself and have been reading the comments. Also Hadros has told me.

I was planning on doing the next patch update starting Thursday for next week.
I did some testing and yes I saw some odd overrun results.
