Hi all,
I am attempting to play The Transit, 1985. i cant figure out how to get to Bordeaux in the allotted time. by my calculation its about 4272 miles (not nautical miles) using a great circle map. which at cruise speed of 12 knots would take about 15 days. The side briefing suggests to island hop to gain some VP support which would increase the distance. At flank speed the convoy runs at 16 knots and if we do this the Peterson loses the option of using her towed array and it would still take 11 days.

thanks for your interest
scott

I just took a look at the scen, since I have never played this particular one.
The short answer to your question of how to get to Bordeaux in time is:
You canīt.

Your math is correct. It will take something like 11-15 days, depending on cruising speed.
If you want to play this scen anyway, you can always ignore the end time and just continue to play.
You will not get any points though when you arrive at Bordeaux, as the event triggers giving you the points, are set to only fire inside the time constraints of the scen.

If you want the points also, you need to open the scen in editor mode and change the time for the four "UnitEntersArea" triggers, and then you might as well also change the duration of the scen.

Itīs easily done, so give it a try and happy sub hunting.

Did some digging and here is the original thread for the scenario from the "... New Scenarios" thread back in 2014.

The Transit 1985

A number of testers note the problem with time and distance making success impossible but the author never responded to input and clearly never edited the initial offering. It appears to have been in the Community pack since 2015. I tried it way back and determined it unwinnable and while I like the general concept, assembling the merchants before departure, such a valuable convoy being provided with such a meagre escort seems highly improbable.

It's an interesting idea that is sadly unwinnable and seems to have been orphaned incomplete by its author. Too bad.

I just recently bought the CMO program so currently I am still in familiarization phase.
My question relates to NASAMS system:
Is it possible deploy the system elements (radars, launcher elements, FDC) separately?
I real life the radar and launcher elements can be deployed over a large area separated by more than 20 km from the FDC.
Is it possible to do similar in the program?
All help is welcome
