I have another query guys - sorry.

I have 2 or 3 units adjacent to Lanchow but it does not fall in value. It is still at 10. This has happened in 2 current PBEM games. 349750 & 346287.

Is it a bug or am I doing something wrong? In 1 game I have taken the city but in the other one it is stubbornly holding on.

Thanks

Pete

Are the units surrounding it in good supply (>=5?)

An excellent question. Is that a requirement? I will check when I take my next turn.

Much obliged.

Must be our game. I really wondered why Lanchow could hold out for so long, but didnt know about that supply rule. Thats why my siege in Ethopia took so long too I guess.

Yes, if units are in poor supply they are unable to siege effectively. I think the threshold's 5 but haven't checked so that could be wrong.

No, the reason will be that all capitals do not degrade by 1 point per turn when multiple units are adjacent to them

On land, any resource except for a Major’s Capital or Fortress that has
2 or more enemy units adjacent to it will have their resource strength
reduced by 1 point per turn until it reaches 0. If there aren’t 2 enemy
units present then the resource regains strength by 1 point per friendly
turn, i.e. deterioration happens in enemy turns, and regaining strength
only occurs in friendly turns
