My wife an I had our Honeymoon on Maui, just north of Lahaina. We come back as often as we can.
A couple of games and a decade or so ago, the SS Lahaina was torpedoed near Pearl Harbor. I voiced by sadness over this incident telling my wife all about what the Lahaina was doing in the war and how she sank. A month later, I opened a Christmas gift from my wife and found out we were going to Maui in a couple of months. WITP-AE in life.
My latest game is in early January of 1945. I-43 just torpedoed the SS Lahaina. Just a few moments ago, she sank west of Manila Bay running supplies to the the Chinese forces at Pakhoi.
As this turn was running, I was sitting about 4 miles north of Lahaina.
Maybe I should mention this disaster to my wife?
