AI Nemesis retreats AGAIN!

Fresh install: 1.10.04b Matrix
Difficulty level: Extreme
Give AI more time to think
AI speed: very slow 250

Nemesis has 2x score 2x population 2x cities 3-4x army and better tech.
Nemesis attack me first. They have MG Divisions, medium tank formations, heavy tank batalions. I have 6 MG brigades (smallest formations) + support units so ~40k men vs theirs ~150k men and ~300 or more tanks. I dont have antitank units.

They retreated so much that I capturet 4 cities. 1 was without a fight... they pulled all units out of the city.
I wanted a good fight... but wasted +60h for a pointless game AGAIN!...

I have all the save files from this game.

I did have similiar experience another game before this. Nemesis was 2-3 times greater than me in everything.
But again they attacked me then just retreats so far that I captured 5 cities. They have massive tank armies and heavy tank batalions and hundreds of large bombers that they didnt use. I dont know why... maybe no fuel.
At the sametime while our war was going on they where pushing in to the wasteland wildreness with way too many troops and HEAVY TANK BATALIONS. While they were losing cities to me in a war they started and my army was 3-4 times smaller and poorly equiped then theirs.
Another +60h wasted...
I dont have save files from this.

Also it seems AI dont know how to use airforce and AI is bad fighting against wildreness/wildlife. And AI dont fight against humans at all.

I have had this happen to me in some older game, AI simply retreats when it could easily overpower my armies and even abandon towns.

Please get me a turn where is i press next turn this behaviour is most prominent... the earlier the turn the better.

It might very well be a case of economic collapse for the AI where it doesn't succeed anymore to feed its troops for example.

I started a new game. With level 5 tech difficulty extreme yada yada... Everyone Is close to each other. First war against AI neighbour who had 10 time the troop that got. (I dont know how that many + lots of tanks.) It was kind of same story. My BATALIONS 1 per hex vs. his BRIGADES 1 or more per hex I slowly pushed AI until his last city.

I mean... why AI is so damn passive and impotent to do anything.

I can give that game saves too if you want.

I've seen this happen - and as Vic says it may be economic collapse. The AI is lousy at strategy!

Had a good game where I was desperately defending against superior nemesis - getting pushed back hard. But after about 50 turns they just stopped - and if I poked them I could rout them easily. They had run out of food/fuel. Sometimes those pesky minors can sever a vital road connection. Fast moving units like sentinels or cavalry love to do this.
