Tejszd -> OPTIONS.TXT (2/1/2022 5:09:14 AM)

Hi Steve,

In the OPTIONS.TXT file most lines seem to align with things that can be changed/set within the game under options but where is "DiffLevel=1" changed? If only within the file what are the allowed values and what do the allowed values change within the game?

"DiffLevel" is a legacy option that is still in the configuration file but not the UI. It is a short-hand way to set the player and enemy strength without changing each setting individually. I'm not sure that it will have any effect on the game if you change it in options.txt but you can try it out:

DiffLevel 0 = easy = Player side very strong, AI side very weak.
DiffLevel 1 = normal = Player side average, AI side average.
DiffLevel 2 = hard = Player side very weak, AI side very strong.
DiffLevel 3 = custom = Do not change side strengths.

On the Close Combat Series website there are some posts about DiffLevel 3 improving the AI;

It doesn't do any of that.
