JacquesDeLalaing -> Intercept Fire - 2 questions (2/2/2022 9:48:37 AM)

In my PBEM game, two questions came up:

1. Artillery intercept fire can also be triggered during close close combats. I suppose it serves to further reduce the attacker's AP, so that he cannot push forward after the the combat (or does it reduce the number of combat rounds?)? It seems, however, that intercept fire triggered by close combat is not displayed in the "hex combat history"? I checked to see how all my artillery units performed during the enemy turn and checked all the hex combat history reports. I noticed that many of my artillery units that had a very high chance to intercept fire (80AP, US arty, good recon on target hex, but low XP) never fired. But then I checked all the close combat reports and noticed that it seems they fired into close combats. Is that correct and what's the effect of intercept fire into close combats? And does it use the terrain mod of the attacked or the attacking hex?

2. Which brings me to my second question: Does the intercept fire setting (never/conservative/regular/trigger happy) have the desired effect on artillery units or does it only work for direct fire?

I am curious too.

Hi,

Exact same rules, i just forgot to log it in the hex combat history. Will do that in next patch. Thanks for reporting!

Best wishes,
Vic
