DarkHorse2 -> Only 5 loadout slots? hmmm... (2/6/2022 4:45:15 AM)

I am glad Denisse pointed this out.

But this seems rather arbitrary and limiting. I wonder why only 5?

I have reviewed historical ladeplans that also allowed a variety of fuel configurations. Additionally, I have picked in-game load-outs where the fuel usage was a primary consideration.

5 does not seem enough to me to afford avoiding the unnecessary wastage of fuel -or- account for the added bomb load configurations in upgrades to AC models.

War Thunder allows 9 for the JU 88A-4 without even considering fuel or LMA,LMB mines!

10 x 50 kg SC50JA bombs (500 kg total)
28 x 50 kg SC50JA bombs (1,400 kg total)
4 x 250 kg SC250JA bombs (1,000 kg total)
4 x 250 kg SC250JA bombs + 10 x 50 kg SC50JA bombs (1,500 kg total)
4 x 250 kg SC250JA bombs + 28 x 50 kg SC50JA bombs (2,400 kg total)
2 x 500 kg SC500K bombs (1,000 kg total)
2 x 500 kg SC500K bombs + 10 x 50 kg SC50JA bombs (1,500 kg total)
2 x 500 kg SC500K bombs + 28 x 50 kg SC50JA bombs (2,400 kg total)
1 x 1,000 kg SC1000L2 bomb + 1 x 500 kg SC500K bomb (1,500 kg total)

I hope this is something that can eventually be expanded.

You can't blame a man for figuring out that the allusions to aviation ammunition are very limited.

But this concerns not only German aviation, it also concerns Soviet aviation.

I have already explained that there was no mass use for large ammunition on the Eastern Front. These are quite specialized ammunition, not for every situation.

And it’s very sad that a person only looks at the caliber of bombs without thinking about the fact that there were also cluster munitions, camulative, lighting incendiary, which are also not available in the game, but the use of which could greatly change the effectiveness of aviation for the better.

For example, German aviation very actively used cluster munitions on June 22, hundreds of small bombs which made it possible to knock out Soviet aviation at airfields, the same ammunition was useful in further attacks on airfields after June 22 23-24-25 and later. This allowed German aviation, albeit locally, to continue to deliver effective, but not as impressive attacks on airfields as on June 22. What is not in the game. Illumination ammunition could increase the effectiveness of hits during night bombing during mass raids. Incendiary would be good to suppress infantry in a wooded area.

Etc

And what is the point of chasing the caliber of bombs?

Their efficiency in itself is quite low. She makes a beautiful broads, but if my memory serves me, the explosion of such a bomb further than 20-40m from the tank will no longer cause significant damage to it. Of course, this is a KV or T-34 conditional. It is almost impossible to achieve a direct hit with such a bomb from a linear flight, and the increased weight severely limits the flight range and requires prepared take-off sites, and the airfield system in the East left much to be desired.
