xhoel -> Construction SUs attached to City Forts not working? (2/7/2022 3:54:26 PM) Using the latest version I ran a test by attaching 3 construction SUs (total of 120 construction value) to a city fort. They dont seem to be digging as the construction progress seems the same without them.

Are they in an HQ inside the city fort, or did you find a way to attach them directly to the city fort counter (which should not be possible)? Or are they attached to the city?

The game doesnt allow the creation of a FZ when you have a city fort counter present, so there is no way for the player to direct construction SUs to that hex, which you need, if you want to build up forts over level 2. If its possible to build a FZ and give it construction SUs in a random hex in the Soviet Union, it would only be logical, that the player is allowed to attach Construction Units to City Forts, which are very important strongpoints (more so than other hexes in game).

(2/7/2022 7:52:15 PM) Honestly I didn't think it was possible, and when I loaded a Soviet save I didn't see the assign option listed on the screen. I just now loaded a German turn and made a German city fort in Budapest and got the assign option. Can't explain this, unless there were no support units in range to attach (but I thought I had some. I see the manual doesn't specifically say you can't attach them, although the main sentence talks about allowing additional combat and HQ units into the hex. I really thought it was not intended to assign support units to the city fort itself (you can attach to a HQ in the hex). It's very likely that construction units are being missed if they are attached directly to the city fort. I suggest not attaching them to the city fort. It might take both Pavel (city forts) and Gary (construction) to change this, so it isn't something that will get addressed anytime soon.
