I checked this on the Soviet side. I changed the HQ of the unit in the pic to Western Front, which was 60 hexes away and the border of the Army was blue. Of course the range on Soviet Fronts and Axis Army's after 41 (I'm well into summer of 43) is 45 hexes, and I would not ever have a HQ that far from it's HHQ. I think the red border could help. The second thing I checked was the HQ command efficiency. The HQ at 60 hexes still had a dark green border, which is not bad efficiency, but the unit was out of command range and I didn't understand that. The only reason the command efficiency didn't go down was to me just having changed it's HQ. But red borders would be great if it could be done.
