Pascal_slith -> PBEM step-by-step (10/4/2003 11:51:47 PM)

Hi,

has anyone put down in a FAQ or in a thread a step-by-step instruction for a PBEM game. I find the manual somewhat incomplete. Aren't, for example, the file extensions .uvs rather than .dat?

Regards,

Pascal

Hi, The change from .dat to .uvs was reported in the update to the patch where it was introduced.

To play PBEM

Both players agree to scenario and settings

Japanese player loads scenario and settings
Makes turn one Ends turn one Saves turn one
He sends the .uvs file to opponent who loads and makes turn, ends and saves
Send back to Japanese

Japanese player loads turn, watches turn execute
Japanese player enters orders for turn 2 ends, saves, returns
He sends file 001.uvs (replay) and the xxx.uvs where turn is saved

Allied player first loads 001.uvs and watches replay
Then he loads xxx.uvs and enters orders, ends turn, saves
Allied player only returns xxx.uvs file

So after turn 1 Japanese player always sends 2 files and Allied player always returns 1 file.

Hope this helps.
