Hi, the prevailing theory on the upgrades was to err on the side of more points in case the player experienced serious losses....(as was the case in RS 1.3 and RS 1.4 to some extent due in part to less than ideal scenario balance) As a result, upgrades happen quicker in RS 1.5 if the player is careful...we give lots of points to encourage the player to take more chances as well - especially in the later battles....so don't be too shy about losses, they'll usually be made good... Also, upgrading certain Russian units is relatively cheap esp infantry... The "Behemoth" was provided by Penetrator and is based upon factual reports - seems Stalin was impressed by how a single KV-2 held up an entire Panzer Division in early summer 1941...so he figured bigger is better...turned on the design boys and they turned out (IIR) 3 prototypes - basically a couple of KV hulls welded together with multiple turrets on top - it has been awhile and I have misplaced the story Penetrator sent me but I believe one never made it to the front and was scuttled because it was stuck and about to be overrun. Another made it to the front and was targeted by the Luftwaffe - nuff said. The third actually fired rounds in anger but was so unbalanced that when the 'broadside' recoil hit, the tank went over on its side. After this dubious beginning, the program was scratched and the design team sent to the Gulag or shot - not clear which but they were 'disappeared'.... I can't say whether there are corroborating German sources or not... Cheers.
