I know there's another thread on topics like this, somewhere, but I can't find it so...
Okay, Japan assault vs Belgian defense 06/49 (not very historically accurate but I was bored)
I've spotted a nice road, about halfway behind the Belgian lines, where I have a glider full of Japanese B infantry coming in. I prepped the area for two turns with smoke rounds, to give them a chance to deploy. Here comes the glider... Uh oh! The road is filled with a column of Comets...bad news.
Glider lands, disgorges troops. Adjacent Comet fires on them... BE HQ destroyed! [img]http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif[/img] Holy cow! [img]http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif[/img] 6 Comets move in and three do overruns. One Comet in adjacent hex fires, two Comets destroyed! [img]http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif[/img] Two more Comets move into the hex (back up to six again) and fire on the infantry. Poor guys are down to two men... End of turn, here comes more 150mm smoke... Opps! I must have clicked HE instead of smoke! Round lands...2 Comets destroyed! [img]http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif[/img] Round lands...JA Inf B destroyed...oh well...Comet destroyed! YES! Round lands...2 Comets destroyed!! [img]http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif[/img] Round lands...Comet destroyed! Two rounds land...nada... Two more, nada...Final round lands M4A3(W) destroyed! [img]http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif[/img] (Never even saw him in there!)
Final results... lost an Inf B squad, but got 6 Comets, a Sherman, and the A0. I love it!![img]http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]
