Veer -> HELP - Windows Media problems!! (11/10/2003 7:08:49 PM)

All help or advice or just general hints would be greatly appreciated:
The situation is this, my Windows Media player (v9) won't play any content - not Avis, mpgs, or even mp3s.
I get an error: "Error performing inpage operation."
When I click on the Web Help button I get a page at microsoft that says:
"Error# 800703E7
Sorry, no more help is available for this problem at this time."
I tired reinstalling, didn't work. System restore didn't work either. Windows update and WM update hasn't helped.
Strange thing is, this only affected Windows, I tried Quicktime and it can play Mpgs and Mp3s just fine.
I need this fixed asap - as I can't play any games that require a movie to be played on startup. Though games like TOAW which don't work fine - leading me to beleive this is not a directX problem. Most liekly I am missing some file or program....
My OS is XP home btw.
