Important..well..yes and no imho. Problem is again the lack of OOB slots. There's only one spec ops squad for the time period of 1938-1949. So whatever weapons you give to them they can be considered wrongly armed at some time period.
Of course the mg-34 was available whole war, even though when mg-42 become available the 34's were assigned to more 'clean' tasks..it was after all rather delicate piece of machinery.
Just my opinion.
