Attack Condor -> (11/15/2003 5:09:17 PM)

December 21, 1942 Weather: Partly Cloudy The SeaBees are at TV, unloading. A second FT TF is leaving RH with the second half of them. I'm also sending a second SeaBee BN from Noumea via FT TF. I'm getting a feeling I'm finally doing the right moves, just too late. I'm also reorganizing the B17s into groups of 12. I had been nursemaining each unit, but it finally dawned that fewer squadrons will mean fewer commanders screaming for replacements, allowing reserves to be built up. Again, part of the learning curve, I imagine. Only 2 B24 squadrons at TV, I've got all the medium bombers at CT, the long range bombers at RH, and am getting the naval strike planes formed at TV. Should be a couple of turns before they can hit back. The 16th BDE is on its way. Let's hope Quark doesn't have his LRCAP up. Bombing runs assigned again for Cairns. even Quark's bamboo shovelers shold have repaired some of the damage with two days of no attacks. I keep assignig the missions, fatigue and morale are okay, but they don't fly :(. I did make one change, the Hudsons cannot reach Cairns in their normal radius, so we'll try them against the troops at TV. The FBs didn't do much, let's try the heavy bombers. P-38s have been lowered to 10000 to try and escort the bombers. My third P-38 squadron is now at RH. They'll join the others tomorrow. North Carolina is going in with the FT TF to try and cover them. Quark's battleships are about. I don't know how effective she'll be in a BB vs BB duel (never fought one in UV) - and she may be outnumbered, but I have to try. If Quark manages to tear down the walls at TV, it may all be over. So the engineers have to go in, and they need protection. More to come...
