Sturmpionier -> Will old images work? (2/6/2004 4:08:24 PM)

I currently have a campaign ongoing and am keeping track of my little grunts with CW. (GR8 BTW!) If I DL the new version, will it be able to use the old images from my current campaign? Or, should I just finish it and then get the new version, using it for a new camp?

Thanks

Yes, you can use the new version with records from the previous version. While the format has changed, I included a small utility for converting old records to the new format. If you stored the records in the default path (<Campaign Watcher>\records), backup and conversion of old records will be done automatically on install. Otherwise, you'll have to do it manually (still quite easy).

Gre tool, Headhunter. Thank you so much for this work...WB

KG Erwin -> RE: Campaign Watcher v0.6 released ... (2/10/2004 2:21:25 AM)

Yes, I will heartily second Bill's recommendation. I'm using this to follow the progress of my "Fighting Fifth" Marines, and to assist in testing the new OOBs. Arne Rossmanith is to be commended by all of us campaigners for continuing to update this. Bernie is also hosting this tool on his site http://spwaw.com.

Jackk -> RE: Campaign Watcher v0.6 released ... (2/13/2004 1:02:39 AM)

Can I ask, what is the difference between kills and total kills?

Also, could someone please sticky the 'direct to forum' link?

headhunter -> RE: Campaign Watcher v0.6 released ... (2/13/2004 2:33:54 AM)

@Wild Bill & KG Erwin:
Thank you both! I plan to continue to support CW as long as there's interest (any feature requests? [;)] ).

@Jackk:
total kills = all kills
kills = new kills since last snapshot

Ah, figures it'd be simple [;)]

Thanks for that! (and the prog, great piece of work)

RockinHarry -> RE: Campaign Watcher v0.6 released ... (2/13/2004 9:13:57 PM)

thank you very much! I donīt play campaigns, but its a great testing tool![:)]

Akmatov -> RE: Campaign Watcher v0.6 released ... (2/16/2004 10:30:35 PM)

Many, Many thanks Headhunter!!!!

CW is a HUGE addition to SPWaW if you ever play a campaign, wouldn't roll out of the Kasern without it!

returnfire -> RE: Campaign Watcher v0.6 released ... (2/17/2004 9:27:34 AM)

I think I found a few more bugs:

1. When playing MCNA/DF, the units may sometimes be switched around (e.g. F3 becomes G3, etc.) Currently, the program compares the old G3 with the new G3, which leads to incorrect results.

(A possible solution to this program is to check the units by leader name before checking the unit number. Unfortunately, this solution won't work if there is a replacement... [:(])

2. Also in a Desert Fox: Replacements for a lost unit has no name or rank and its rally and commanding skills are set to zero. The replacement unit does improve over time, though. The problem is, CW still marks it as KIA. [8|]

3. IIRC the "force composition" graph won't work if you have 100% infantry in your core force.

4. The "value" feature in graphs only work for the "average." Max and min are still shown in hex (plus it's incorrect [:D]).

@RockinHarry & Akmatov: Your kind words are greatly appreciated. [:)]

@returnfire:
Thanks for your comments. The first point is a bit tricky and I lack the time at the moment, so it will have to wait. For now, I will only adress the other three:

This is a bug in DF. As it currently works (and as it is handled in generated campaigns), a unit without rank is considered KIA and apparently DF sometimes fails to assign a rank to replacements.
Hm, thinking about it, I probably could use the # of men instead ... ok, will do that in the next version.

Could you please elaborate? I tried a 100% infantry core and could not see any problem.

While the "value" displayed for "Avg" actually is the average value, "Max" and "Min" are not (hex) values, but the designations of the units with the highest/lowest values. [:)]
