ZONER -> When can we expect feedback? (2/24/2004 5:00:32 AM)

Any idea when we will see a web page or hear any comments from the developers?

I have been waiting for ages for an update. There used to be a half reasonable one on the Australian Design Group site, but now that Matrix has joined forces, that has vanished. [:(]

pasternakski -> RE: When can we expect feedback? (2/28/2004 6:33:07 AM)

Matrix has not "joined forces." Matrix is now the "800-pound gorilla." I don't expect updates until serious work has begun on redesigning (I can't believe that the project will involve mere furtherance of the work that had been done on CWiF under the ADG aegis). Matrix/2by3 are currently inflamed with several major projects that must be absorbing all or nearly all of their design people. Maybe some groundwork has been done for this new project, but it can't have gotten very far yet.

I'm a patient kind of guy. I can wait. I'm just glad this project is being undertaken.

Well not all of our time. We are hiring the rest of the CWIF staff to join us. Everything should be in place in a week or so. Your input been a key help in getting us moving in the right direction. Let me say that we are NOT even going to pretend a release date but we are working on it. If you looked at Empire in Arms we done it so and we feel we are getting it right. This is going to take some time but this is a labor of love for us. Harry has trusted us with his baby and we are going to do our best not to let him down. You will hear more from the new team as we get going.

David

David, as always, you're the best. Thank you for the info.

I'm also happy to find that you're a fan of my old pal Berke Breathed.

Does that include Chris Marinacci? Surely it must since his grasp of the rules plus the existing design would be irreplaceable. Thanks again to Chris for his work, Harry for the game, and Matrix for potentially delivering the game of my dreams. I used to have a huge extra room for gaming.. complete with a beer fridge. Now I have kids and a computer. I need this. [:)]

Thanks David for the response it goes a long way to just hear the words "we are working on it".

No offense to Matrix intended, but I sincerely hope they can bring Chris aboard. It is my opinion that it would greatly reduce the production time, whether starting from scratch or using his existing code.

Thanks again to Matrix for picking this project up and thanks to Chris/Harry for making it possible.

A week is a long time in politics... and also in Wargaming - Greyshaft (3/25/2004) [:D]

terje439 -> RE: When can we expect feedback? (3/28/2004 2:13:10 PM)

It sure would be nice if the guys at matrix could bring an update at least once a month as to how the work is going

Bart Koehler -> RE: When can we expect feedback? (3/30/2004 4:40:58 AM)

Hello all. I apologize for my absence on this forum, I have been knee deep in other projects and we just weren't at a point where I felt we had anything to concretely to contribute on our efforts. At this point, I think we are getting to the point where we can post some regular updates. Monthly seems reasonable. We are heavy into updating the artwork at this point and I must say I am very happy with the progress. I will post some screen shots at somepoint in the future, no promises yet.

I will be posting some more details and look for some feedback from you in the near future.

Thanx for your patience, you will be hearing more from me on this forum.

Bart

Again David thanks for the response. I think I speak for everyone here "hope to hear from you soon"

David Heath -> RE: When can we expect feedback? (4/1/2004 3:30:16 AM)

Hi Guys

Just so you know we have listed a web page on the top right pull down. There is nothing there but a splash screen but once we get our first new screenshots we should have that ready to go as well. At this point please consider this project offically off and running. It maybe a little while before we have something to show you but we promise you will be the first to see it here.

David

Greyshaft -> Precious is coming.... (4/1/2004 5:12:44 AM)

<sounds of rapture>

Neilster -> RE: When can we expect feedback? (4/4/2004 6:54:39 PM)

Excellent news about the screenshot website David. Also I'm really glad that Chris is involved. I thought he did a fantastic job on CWiF I (CWiF 1/2?) and I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for his efforts.

p.s. I've said it before but that was before the hacking. A spherical map will be worth it in the long run. It's like object oriented programming; you never know when it will come in handy. The current scientific consensus is that the Earth is a (slightly flattened) sphere.

Good hunting...Joey
