mscano -> Questions about buying a Mega Campaign (9/6/2001 5:36:00 AM)

I've been thinking about buying the Desert Fox MC, but I'm concerned about all of the flaws in the OOB's especially since many of the flaws were in the Italian OOB (a truck depicted as a Corsair, just to name one). Do the MC's use these OOB's or are they better "tuned"? I'd like to hear from people who have bought the Desert Fox MC. I'm not opening this thread to start a flame feast, I just want some real opinions on the game.
Thanks

just ordered yesterday but i think the OOBs in MC are the same as the usual you should have on your computer. Probably there should be a v7 OOBs with really better accuracy but i don't know if they will come exactly with the 7.0 mech.exe/MC2 or with some delay...

OOB review is one of the big features of ver 7. They will be scrubbed but who can guarentee if they will be perfect?

These "bugs" are nostly typos in the file to be displayed in the encyclopedia - they have NO effect on game play in the MC's. To my knowledge properly installed MC's have NO icon mistakes (ie the littel icon that shows up while playing the game are ALL correct. If there is an error in installation, units that don't have an icon association will appear as halftracks. The "bugs" are in the "LBM" association that appear when you go to an encyclopedia entry, the little picture may not display right because of reversing digits or the like in typing in the file number to display in the OOB. While its nice to have all the pictures corect and the little blurbs associated correctly, the priority has been on things that affect gameplay. I've had Desert Fox for over a month now. In that time I've found it to be a very entertaining and fun game. Well worth buying. I've had a few problems, but over all I'd say this is a terrific game! I've posted here the few times I've had problems, and have gotten prompt and helpfull replies every time. My advice; go for it! Eric Maietta
