BulletMagnet -> Has anybody done this? (3/10/2004 2:26:52 AM)

Has anyone made a scenario for when the germans did a commando assault to rescue Mussolini? I cant remeber the guys name who led it,but i know he was a bad ass. I think the raid was succesful.I would love to see this if it has been done.

Yep same dude that ran the NOT US soldiers unit that infltrated the US lines during the opening of the Battle of the Bulge offensive if I am not mistaken.

I believe you are absolutely correct.

I'm sure I recall playing a spwaw scenario depicting Skorzeny's rescue of Mussolini from Gran Sasso ... can't for the life of me remember the name of it tho ... [:@]

As a side note, I think his most impressive feat was the prevention of Hungary's settling a separate peace in 1944 (from an Axis point of view anyway [8|])

Yes, it exists, I've played it once.
I can't remember who did it, and it's not in the 8.0 release, anyway.
It could be that Redleg designed it.

yes, otto was one of hitlers favourites, along with rudel and a few others...

I think there is one about this called Gliders in the Dark....or Gliders in the Night something liek that

Redleg -> RE: Has anybody done this? (3/14/2004 7:21:03 AM)

This scenario was named "Unexpected Tourist Party" and was designed by Fradar.

I have it and since Fradar is working away from home, if you email me, I will send it to you.

It is a quick-play and worked very well. It also features the use of an aircraft that you probably have never seen in another scenario. Recommended for a lot of fun.

You might also want to check out "Eben Emael" by Fradar. Another quick-play featuring glider troops. Very unusual and challenging. It is a quick-play. I also have this one and will send it to any who asks for it.

From what I've read, Skorzeny's greatest feat is considered his delaying of the Soviets at the Oder. The original plan was to demolish all the
bridges, but one was left intact to allow retreating GE units and civilians to escape. The story (myth?) goes that Skorzeny's truck was the last one
over the bridge before it was dropped. The units that he led across checked the head-long SO advance long enough to permit many GE formations to withdraw behind the Oder and avoid annihilation.

Sure send it to me. I would like to try it.
