Warp -> Any way to change priority of targets (3/12/2004 1:14:43 AM)

[&:] I planned it so well, hid a small task force in an obscure place, the Jap carriers swept on by, and I snuck out and timed it perfect, there I was 11 troop laden transports escorted by just 1 destroyer in a night action. They were facing 2 heavy cruisers, 1 light cruiser and 2 destroyers. I even achieved suprise! Got off numerous first shots, totally no response from the enemy. The result , one Destroyer sunk, hit 78 times, including (I counted) 40+ 8 inch hits. The 14 knot Transports sailed off pretty as you please, totally unscathed. Needless to say, I was a Tad upset. I think this may be a bug.

Sent 60 SBD's against 1 DD and 4 troop laden transports landing troops at Talugi, hit the dang DD 8x with 1,000 LB bombs, 1 bomb hit a maru. They landed their troops, sailed off pretty as a picture. I think this may be a bug.

One campaign, subs torpedoed (in seperate attacks) 2 tankers and 8 cargo ships, not one sunk. I understand our torpedoes were defective, but when they did detonate, I believe they sunk ships. Another bug.

I think full cargo ships should be the #2 target in the game (only carriers should have a higher priority). Non-military ships are not compartmentalized. They should be made much more fragile.

Unrealistic results tend to detract from the enjoyment of the game.

Plus another bug, noticed a few ships that I have sunk did not show up in the results (not any carriers), victory screen after you end game (even if you end the game early) could be displayed like Steel Panthers, this would be nice. (I.E all units in game displayed and what happened to them in the game).

I try sending in a pair of task forces depending on the size of
the apponants force, in your case his destroyer was able to interdict
and keep your small force busy ( 78 hits ) while his transports did there
business.
If you send in a couple cruisers and destroyers in one convoy and
a pair of cruisers with some destroyers in another at the same
time chances are your first contact takes out his support
and your second convoy tears up the transports.
also send them in twice as the transports take time to
unload and park a couple subs in there return path to
clean up the wounded stragglers.

Large task forces have negative results also, say a 24 ship
bombardment force is better to be broken down to two or even
three forces. ( better results )

SBD'S, check the skill level of the pilots keep attacking and bring there level
up above 80+ then they will start to decimate the ships.

ships showing up sunk or not sunk at the end of the turn
is the fog of war, I have sunk a BB and a CV and not having them
pop up for three days.

As much as three months can go by before sunk ships show up on your intelligence screen.

None of these are bugs, by the way. You have to chalk it up to the vagaries of war in UV.

Ah! That explains Junyo (?) suddenly being declared sunk despite the fact that it had been one heck of a long time since I had taken pot shots at his carriers (meanwhile, 2 of my four are probably out of the war, Enterprise will hopefully be back in the action soon, and poor Wasp is all by her lonesome).
