Dean Robb -> OOB add and Bug Fix Request (10/1/2001 2:30:00 AM)

Hopefully, for 7.0... Please add the P-38F to the US OOB starting in August of 1941. This is the only US plane that saw active duty service throughout the entire war - it also made the first US air-to-air kill of WWII. The D-mod was the first combat-capable version and started deliveries in 8/41. The F-mod is already in the game and will suffice - it started deliveries in Feb 42 and made modest changes to the D-mod. The plane should become available in 8/41 and carry 2 1000 lb bombs, plus the nose guns. As for the bug - I'm referring to the bug-out bug where troops retreating/routed will head toward their side of the map, irregardless of enemy troops in the way. This results in frequent cases of troops running away from the nasty enemy - by charging into them. The code should be adjusted so that the retreating unit moves away from the enemy unit pounding upon them and not arbitrarily toward it's map side.

Those units are not elephants, you can't drive them in the direction you want by getting around them and driving them away from their retreat zone. Men under fire will react instinctivly, they head back towards their own lines one way or another.
thanks, John.

Sorry but I really dont agree on this point. I dont think guys getting mauled by Tank or MG fire will run right to their agressor because they are between them and their line. The only survival and instinctive reaction retreating and fleeing troups will have is to flee AWAY from the menace and to the nearest cover. Or just stay in place and surrender if surrounded....
Just like in the good old ASL... BTw this bogus retreating path is really painfull when you are planning airborne operation... just try to keep ennemy at aby when they flee toward you...
