Rick Borovec -> PBEM Scenarios (10/6/2001 7:25:00 AM)

Hello fellow wargamers!
I am looking for the names of pre-made scenarios that were designed for play by e-mail. If you have designed or played a scenario that worked(s) well as a e-mail game please let me know which it is. Thank you.
Boro

I have recently developed a system for creating scenarios specifically for pbem. They will permit custom maps, victory hex locations, etc as are usually found in scenarios. The biggest difference is that they will permit the player to purchase a major portion of his own force... unlike regular scenarios. See my post at Combat Command Forum. If there is enough interest in this, I will expend the time and effort to continue. There is a working model (not balanced but illustrative) that will be provided to anyone who asks for it. Email artifice@fireserve.net and it will be sent. You can try it with a pbem friend and see for yourself.

Easiest way to figure out which prepackaged scens are good for two player play is to check descriptions of them. I know a lot of designers will note that a scen is good for two players right in it's text. I know I'd like to try Brent 'Grenadier' Richards "Not Driblets But Mass" which was next up on my solo play list, 'til I noted it said it was best played via email with two players. So I chucked it onto my 'save till later' list Alex

http://www.militarygamer.net/steelpanthers/spotlight.asp You can try this 'Miltons farm' -battle. I've done it to be played from both sides, so I think it can be played pbem... mosh

I've put together a short lost of scen's that I think may be good for PBeM play. It covers about the first 4 pages of the game scen list and I may add to it in the future. Here's my first update to this list. New ones have an asterik (*) before the name.
Here goes: Pre '40: Bloody Tank Testing
Chaing's Nightmare
Lions of Ethiopia '41: Breakout from Borisov
Not Dribblets but Mass
Suprise on the Steppes '42: A Fading Light
Assault on Corredigor
Jungle Rats
No Easy Place '43: Fuel to the Fire
Meeting of Devils
Roadblock
What to Do?
*Not Another Stalingrad '44: A Belated Christmas
Castle Hill
Cut Off
Ranville Resolve
Taking Tuetzpuntke 11
Turncoats
*Tigers in the Garden
*The Bridges of Borisov
*Ripping and Roaring '45 A Marine Moment
Latecomers
Luck and the Last Teutonic Knight
I'd be up to try any of them myself, so if you want to play one, feel free to drop me a line. Alex [ November 27, 2001: Message edited by: Alexandra ]

Alex Thanks for the list, that just what I was looking for. I have enjoyed your AAR's, I will send you an e-mail about playing a game. Boro

Boro, Glad I can help, though I'm just guessing - at this point - about what ones will be good I'll eagerly await the email. Alex
