First problem is I cant seem to get proper sound with the game...no music and or a breakup of the normal game sounds. Does the patch fix this? and where can I find details of what the patch fixes? Also occasional crashes to desktop.

Second BIGGER PROBLEM...

I purchased this game a couple of days ago after reading all of the glowing reviews...However to "test" it I have played all 4 16 turn scenarios (3 times each), with myself as Germans and the Russians managed by the computer at its default level. I have played these scenarios offering NO INPUT at all on my turns, except to click the turn over...sadly I have been able to win every game decisvely (except for scenario 1 where the computer could manage only a draw). I repeat I was able to win without doing a single thing!
Can you tell me is this...

How it was designed to be? With a German minor victory say, really being a Russian one?
A bug fixed by the patch which I'v yet to download?
A bug or problem with how the game scores victory?
A case of the games AI being totally deficient in being able to manage and calculate offensive actions to win?

I have not experimented with this "test" in the reverse case, where the AI is playing the Germans. Nor with the major scenario as yet.

Please tell me if I have missed something...but it seems to me that a problem exists wherein you can "win a game" without having to do anything. Thats no fun and not worth $60.

All else is fine, the game system is slick and easy to use and this would be a great game in human vs human mode.

Cheers Brip

Stop over analysing, grab the 2 patches from the Matrix Download site - and then start playing people in PBEM games and you will really see where your value for money is,

PBM is the best idea, I agree Rob. But a good solitaire game against the AI would be good as well. After all that is what the product and numerous reviews I've read touts it can do. Guess I'm disapppointed after all I read that the AI seems to be disappointingly inadequate. Like a chess program playing at only below beginner level. I repeat I can win the scenarios decisvely without doing a thing.

Have you found the AI adequate? Or did you just buy it for PBM?

Do the patches tweak or fix the AI at all?

Dont get me wrong though its a nicely done game system and inteface...best I've seen for a hexed based strategy game. Guess I'll have to try PBM.
