Hi,
the Maus is quoted in the German OOB as beeing available in 1949.
First edit the OOb and replace the availability date w/ 05/1945 // 1949.
Second, edit the formations and create a " Super hvy Tank squad " w/ 1 or 2 units.
You must do like this because the Maus has a rarity factor of 3, meaning it can't appear except in dedicated squads.
Enjoy !

Can I take out the rarity thing so that I can have more then that? Making a fictious campaign in which a seprate peace is made with western alliance and the germans hold off the Russians long enough for a summer offensive in 1945. Also can I create other units to be edited? like a new tank for the allies? The pershing is crap. The only way to not get slaughtered by the russians in the "american vs russia campaign" is to take a section or two of kingtigers. Perhaps put in the T-95 concept tank?

I'm not near my computer with the encyclopedia, but isn't the Patton available? It had good armor slope, thickness and a 90 mm gun IIRC. It may dance well with advanced "T" tank lines and the JS collection. King Tigers rule, however. [ October 26, 2001: Message edited by: Challenge ]

The patton is not available for the campaign that comes with the game. Only the pershing luckaly I remebered from past SP games that the pershing was only slightly better then the sherman so i lookied for some german tanks. I had ten pershings in the begining of the battle. four tigers and two jadgpanthers. The pershings managed to knock a couple t-43 and bt-7 but where almost totally ineffective against the advanced "T" and JS series. The tigers and Jpanthers stood up to almost the whole soviet tank force. The pershings managed to hold off the infantry and a couple t-34 they were able to ambush. other then that they were able to hlod off the infantry from the tigers.

Well dancsan, I have not been able to find a way to set the rarity rating in the OOB editor that came with my download of SPWaW, but someone can probably help you there. But if youīre creating a unit in the editor you donīt have to change the rarity at all.
About editing a unit thatīs easy with the OOB editor (not the ingame map/scenario editor) and you can edit the units, the guns/weapons or the formations. You could create your own units in the OOB (but Iīm not the person to help you here) but edit existing units is a real treat. Just open the OOB editor and open the OOB youīll wanna edit and itīs the easiest thing!
The Maus is located under "Very Heavy Tank" but thereīs no menu in the editor for that sort of tank, so you can change the tag to Heavy Tank (or whatever) so that you can access the Maus easy in the editor. BTW, I think the Maus is set to be avaliable in early ī46 originaly. I set it to mid or early ī45, theoretically it could have been done by then if the sh*t wouldnīt have hit the famous fan for the Germans. check out Achtung Panzer ! for info on Maus and all other tanks in WW2. Itīs great!!! Hope I helped

I think that the rarity code is the second digit in the radio availability. e.g., a 93 code indicates 90% chance of a radio, and rarity 3 (same for 13, 23, 33....)

Who needs a new tank for the allies when you can get the Centurion (limited to 17pdr for 1945 but creative imagination will allow the early introduction of the Mk3 with 20pdr.). Good armour and optics and the gun can take out just about anything (especially if you use the ANZAC version with 17pdr - HVAP set to 255 instead of correct 253 - this has been fixed for V7 apparently). Also Warhorse (?) has created OOB stats and icons for M6 Heavy tank (US Army) Black Prince (Churchill with 17pdr) and Tortoise (UK version of T-95 with 32pdr/3.7" AA gun) available from http://www.fprado.com/armorsite/spwaw_downloads.htm
