I feel there is a small group of people who are eagerly awaiting this game to be released, more than any other game due out.

Im sure we check here every day for some snip bit of information on status or a sreenshot or anything.

This forum is very quite as it is so it shows that this isnt the most popular release due out. However we are here waiting for signs/news.

I for one will buy this game on its release date but we need some news. To keep us going and maybe draw in some new customers.

It would be nice to have some kind of update.

I think alot of us are just lurkers right now, awaiting the release...I'm sure interest will pick up once it comes out...I've been waiting for this game for a long time and can't wait to sink my teeth into a WWI strategic game...right now though, I'm busy trying to get Vincenza into Serie A in Championship Manager, and work miracles with Manchester City in Total Club Manager, so I have enough to keep me busy...

sol_invictus -> RE: It would be nice (4/13/2004 6:53:27 PM)

I actually pre-paid for this game over a year and a half ago when it was an Adanac solo effort. So yes, I'm looking forward to its eventual release.[>:]

Ha ha, you too? But . . . I think it will be worth it for sure!

Hi!

Remember Frank has just had his Napoleonic game published. He is very conscienous about fixing bugs. So I think until you see the volume slowing down on the Campaigns of the Danube thread, progress here will probably have ground to a halt.

Hang in there, I think it will be worth the wait.

if you manage to win anything with City, report it to the developers, it's probably a bug...[:D]

Brady -> RE: It would be nice (4/14/2004 1:50:32 AM)

I think if we were to see some screans and perhaps some After action reoports of the testing it would help a lot. More details the better, help to fuel dischion and interest.

Hence the use of the term "miracle"....I can safely say that as of now, there are no bugs in the game!...[:)]...although, upon reflection, I did win the ultimate prize, the IT Cup!...[;)]

Yes, I understand the interest and the desire to get information. But you have to remember that in the last edition, we are testing without the new map, and even the counters themselves are almost assuredly going to change. Thus, screens at this time (in a pre-beta test) will only give a misrepresentation of the game.

The stage we are at is making sure that the mechanics work. You know you order an attack, and the units attack. You get a battle, and you determine if that battle was conducted properly. I believe things are looking pretty good, but a fairly major bug was encountered concerning terrain "possession," which lead to incorrect battle results and the destruction of whole units because they could not retreat properly.

Research, unit builds and diplomacy seem to be on track. But you have to remember, with each new build, you cannot take for granted that something hasn't changed, and that requires you to recheck everything again. Also, Frank has created a completely new game engine, so it's not comparable to ACW or Campaigns on the Danube. Breaking new ground here...

I'm sure as things move along you guys will be updated. He does, however, have the responsibilty to provide support for Campaigns on the Danube, and he takes that very seriously. I'm sure when this game hits the street, you will appreciate that dedication to game support as well.

FrankHunter -> RE: It would be nice (4/14/2004 7:46:42 PM)

Just to add, I can't give out screen shots because the graphics aren't done and uploading grey screen where the existing graphics don't fit the background would be counter-productive . However, I'm happy to answer any questions on the game itself.
