pax27 -> OOB question about the Maus (10/27/2001 4:00:00 PM)

We´re getting deep into the Maus these days I was looking at a few pictures of the Maus (v I and II) on Achtung Panzer (check it out) and wondered if the Maus in SPWaW shouldn´t be equipped with skirts in the OOB? Is that not the extra armour protecting the tracks and wheels of a tank? Well, if it is, the Maus got ´em... Another of these little things that I just remembered: I think the icon of the Maus has the coaxial 7,5 mm gun (that´s a coaxial gun for you!) on the wrong side (left, if you´re sitting in the tank)? If it is, how can I change it?
Thanks [ October 27, 2001: Message edited by: pax27 ]

Hi, About the co-axial gun being in the wrong side, try making the Maus face the opposite direction. It will then be in the correct side. It is the same with the Lee/Grant tanks. A game limitation I think, and one that probably (and rightfully) is not going to be corrected anytime soon. Regards, Lars

Silly me! Yeah, the fact that the engine just mirrored the icon just didn´t strike me. Although it is a strange way of doing facings. It should be simpler to rotate the icon.
Well, I guess that I´ll have to play with the germans from left to right whenever I feel especially historically correct One down...

I´d like to know the answer to this one, so please take the time if you have the knowledge:

Well, it sure looks like armor protection to me! It's about 100mm thick, like to know how mechanics got to the suspension with that in the way, it ain't applique!!
