Alby -> Bad Blood? (11/3/2001 6:35:00 AM)

Taken from an SPWW2 forum. Apparently they believe SPWAW is planning on releasing VER7 to coincide with their Ver5 release?????? On purpose??!! Geez i hope the Bad Blood doesnt run THAT deep.
Posters name will remain annyonomous>>>. "It is very close, but no exact time or date will be announced. It seems
that every time we do, the SPWaW group comes up with a new update release of
their own and generates a bunch of hype about their game all around the net.
Maybe they don't want anybody to discover SPWW2? Anyway, I guess we will
just have to wait and see if they do what they usually do. Hopefully, this
time, they will continue to work on their promised "new" games and leave us
to develop SPWW2. If not, well, we have been there and done that before."

I wish I had time to pay attention to SPWW2...let alone their conspiracy theories... We'll let Combat Leader speak for itself!

Gen.Hoepner -> (11/3/2001 7:03:00 AM)

That's the way to answer Paul!!!!!!!!

Zorfwaddle -> (11/3/2001 8:13:00 AM)

The only thing Im waiting for from them is the MBT thing.

DanTepX -> (11/3/2001 8:27:00 AM)

Just wondering, what is SPWW2? A different version of SP:WaW?

sebagonzalez -> (11/3/2001 8:35:00 AM)

Is one of the Many Steel Panthers Mutations around there. As Matrixgames staff put the old SP engine of DOS to Windows with more features, in short words, puting it to modern standarts, the guys of SPWW2 had kept the DOS engine, this means not online play, but with some diferent features like multiple elevations and other stuff. Itīs another well done SP. Itīs a 36MB download.

Guderian -> (11/3/2001 6:59:00 PM)

There we go again. The fact is, both games are again going out at the same time. Again there will be confusion in the community, etc. etc. I hope it's just coincidence, if not.... Maybe both groups should make link on their page explaining what are both games and where to find the other ? I'm sure it wouldn't hurt...

SPWW2 is a completely obsolete DOS game played by those who still think "Pong" is the cutting edge.

Geez Alby what was your point in posting that here? Alby, do you post over on the YAHOO SPww2 site just to bring it here? Is that really adding anything to the hobby? [ November 03, 2001: Message edited by: waynef ]

This is Alby's post on the SPww2 Yahoo site responding to Mr annyonomous.. Guess you cant really blame them for wanting to get the bugs out of
the game,hence,one explanation for the many updates.But frankly i
tend to believe Matrix
sometimes listens a little TOO much to the community, changing this
or that because some people start complaing about certain
things. "infrantry doesnt kill enuff"...ect ect.. Then they need
another update because they went too far the other way on the changes.
I myself wouldve rather had them concentrate on the oobs since ver
5 was released,rather than all the back and forth combat routine
changes, but I
give both them and SP cammo all the thanks in the world for 2 fine SP
games! Looking forward to spww2 version5!!!
Think there's any reason this needed to be posted on this site? Does it add anything to either game experience? Does it help either group?

Frankly i prefer River Raid over many "cutting edge" games, which is saying something. Seriously, there are many ppl who enjoy Spww2 here, heck I even had a talk with Paul about finer points of both games. Just FYI this is not "Matrix Games fanboy contest", it's a forum about a wargame...

Lars Remmen -> (11/3/2001 9:36:00 PM)

You're right Gud, you're right. Let's just be happy that there are so many people working to give us great gaming experiences! Regards, Lars

Frank W. -> (11/3/2001 10:58:00 PM)

would be nice to post a link someone,so i can compare,too. but,iīm afraid much DOS games doesnīt run on my system,but i will give it a try. thx.

Paul Vebber -> (11/4/2001 12:25:00 AM)

As usualy this is pointless. We at Matrix have a schedule driven by Mega Campaign completion, thats it. The SPWW2 folks can speculate about conspiracy theories all they want. We have offered so many patches in the last year, its difficult for one NOT to have come out near an SPWW2 realese. We are gettin out of the SP mod arena for the most part, (a few bug fixes and perhaps another MC, if sales of the existing ones pick up) and leave to them with our best wishes. We are looking to to future and new games. [ November 03, 2001: Message edited by: Paul Vebber ]
