lnp4668 -> PBEM with randomly generate forces (11/10/2001 5:42:00 AM)

Alessandra and I attempted to play an email game using forces pick by the computer. That way, there is less of a chance for unrealistic force selection (like 2 companies of Koenigtigers ). However we are unable to set it up by email since it will not allows random force selection. We attempted to setup a hotseat game and save it and send it as a save file, however, I can't open it through the load option in hotseat. Do we have to save the file in a non secure slot in order for this to work?

Yes, nonsecure works for AIs purchase. It is hotseat game. To let AI do purchase is great but I am not sure if its fun. You may want to change your battle forces after you've senn hundred of Panzerfausts and two Pz-IV in -44 against 20 Bazookas and company of Shermans. AI does purchase sometimes very odd forces... mosh

If you are willing to go through these lengths to have "reasonable" OOBs, wouldn't it just be easier to agree on a few simple rules as to maximum purchases? (e.g. 500 points on armor, 500 points on artillery, etc.)

lol - I only had one company of them And that was about all I had, too. First time I've ever used them and was curious about how good they were The reason I proposed a random game in the first place, between, Inp and I, is this: A commander, irl, is often judged by how well he can work when forces or the situation is not of his choice - when he's thrown into a TF command, with no warning, no time to study OOB, no time to learn anything about his troops. It might not be perfect, but it could be interesting Alex
