Truckeye -> another plane crash in NYC (11/12/2001 10:17:00 PM)

sorry penetrator for going off topic, but some may want to know. our prayers once again go out to the families and workers over there.

It's unbelievable! I was bow hunting this A.M & just got back to the house. I'm p***ed & sad at the same time. My thoughts & prayers are with all touched by this & especially our women & men in our Armed Forces.

Lest we forget: Not all plane crashes are due to terrorist actions.

Truckeye -> (11/13/2001 5:00:00 AM)

never claimed it was a terrorist attack, though at the time nothing had been determined. regardless, it is still appropriate to take a moment for those victims of either a deliberate or mechanical tragedy, as well as inform those that were not aware. It doesn't matter what caused it. My prayers go to the victims, their families, and to those working there. Terrible news... Fab

Never heard a word for the people of spain that suffered a horrible terrorist attemp from ETA, and injured 100 people near a school. Anyway, my prayers for victims and families of both tragedies.

sebagonzalez, are you from spain?

Prayers and sympathy are all well and good in their proper place. But should we now use this forum as a wailing wall for every person who dies on this planet?

jamiep1 -> (11/13/2001 8:35:00 PM)

I have to agree with Warrior & I take the blame. I fell into the trap that this was a terrorist act & it was only a couple of hours after the jet went down. I should, as all of us should wait to see what the NTSB & others develop. This forum should not fall into posts for every disaster in the world. I post at several other forums & I have seen prayer requests for family members & friends & then the forum ends up flooded with those requests. That said, any time something significant happens like on 911, people will & should post to their favorite forums. I believe that people feel a comfort at a forum site because everyone there shares a similar passion for the site's subject.

Quite true, our Forum is a form of family. And I wouldn't want anyone to feel they shouldn't post what's on their heart and mind. But like with any family, it's perhaps better to not share everything.

its not like i was saying i flushed the family goldfish and need your thoughts and prayers. geesh, i would think that 200+ people in a plane crashing into a residential neighborhood on the heels of 9/11 in one of the most important cities in the world under suspicious circumstances warrented a few seconds of our time. if you dont have the time, then go on with your life and ignore the post that clearly stats what its about. the title was clear, so those with no interest are not obliged to even read it. if its horribly off topic, the monitors can delete it.
