I get spwaw 5 to run but I cannot update it neither to the next version nor to the 6.x version. it always demands a SMK file which already exists.

Have you tried downloading the 5.2 patch again? Perhaps you had a bad download and the file is corrupted enough that it doesn't patch correctly. Do you only have one copy of the game on your hard drive? If you have mutiple installs (different versions) it may be trying to patch the wrong version. If v5.01 internet (the current base install without the mc) runs correctly then the 5.2 update should work. Did you do a reboot after doing the 5.01 install before installing the 5.2 update? Every upgrade needs a reboot after installing.

I did exactly like you did. clean all SPWAW on the HDD (first setup, then manually all the other game files like savegames) Reboot Install SPWAW 5.02 Internet download (I did not reload it since it's a bit big and actually worked) reboot

install 5.2 reboot start. - Error. I will try upgrading with a fresh download now. Anyway, could it be possible that you make at least one recent version as full download? Maybe the coming 7.0 as update or as full game ?

There was a change to credits video after v5. require the v5+ vid998.smk file its available in the larger downloads, or seperatly on the download page. [ November 13, 2001: Message edited by: Paul Vebber ]
