AbsntMndedProf -> MCSE Question: (5/13/2004 4:32:27 PM)

I didn't want to post this as a 'bug' post, however this does seem strange to me. Some German foot units that come off of HTs are destroyed in the same manner as AFVs, rather than taking casualties in the usual manner. Not a major problem, just wondering why this happens? Has anyone else noticed this? Thanks!

Eric Maietta

Resisti -> RE: MCSE Question: (5/13/2004 4:55:35 PM)

What Spwaw version are you using?
MCSE was designed with 8.0, already.

AbsntMndedProf -> RE: MCSE Question: (5/13/2004 4:58:34 PM)

I'm running 8.0.

Jim1954 -> RE: MCSE Question: (5/13/2004 5:20:30 PM)

Haven't seen that one. What node and scen #? Also, have you dl'ed and applied the 8.1 patch? There was a siginifcant bug in 8.0 that allowed medium and heavy mgs to de-track almost any AFV easily. You should've seen my PzI's against V2's Matildas. Best AT weapon I ever had.[X(]

Feels like an oob bug, prof you sure you dont use h2h or something? I've encountered similar things way back with older scenarios and I believe it happens when units are replaced or change places in the oob file.

I double checked, and I have the 8.1 patch installed. This just happened again in S25,N35. Turn 6, a German patrol enters the board on the German Southern boarder. One of my platoon company CO units takes it under fire from an adjacent hex. The patrol is hit with thompson SMG fire and destroyed as though it were an AFV. This may be pertinent; it seems that the patrol may have entered riding a PzIV(h).

May it be you rather mean N25 S35 (node 25, scenario 35)?? In fact it could be that you´ve seen a german scout reccon riding a Pz-IV, but that would not explain why it (the scouts) would be destroyed like a vehicle! Does the german scout leave a "wreck" after destruction? The "vehicle destruction" sound played?

Could very well be. The 'vehicle destruction' sound does play, but there is no wreck icon after the scouts are destroyed. Also, when the unit was hit, instead of the usual '# of casualties' pop-up, a 'unit hit in front and destroyed' pop-up accompanied the 'vehicle destroyed' sounds.

Major Destruction -> RE: MCSE Question: (5/20/2004 5:37:04 AM)

I finished playing the scenario through as a stand alone senario and experienced no unusual effects.

I don't see any problems with the scenario as it stands, in fact it is a fantastic scenario with a lot of tense moments and great infantry combat situations.

Perhaps this is a new campaign bug?

RockinHarry -> RE: MCSE Question: (5/25/2004 10:13:44 PM)

I think I´ve seen this "quirk" several times before (including MCLV) and it appears to happen on rare occasions, when probably units are destroyed instantly when "forced" to disembark,..or something similar. There´s obviously something in disorder with this part of the game routine, but as you already say..if the game does not crash..just forget about it.:)

I remember (SPWAW V5 or earlier) I have seen something like: "Infantry hit in the back by hand grenade, destroyed!". Funny! Lol

Thrashman -> RE: MCSE Question: (5/26/2004 5:58:51 PM)

Could it be they are riding those well built German Bicycles?

Actually not. They come in riding on a Pz-IV, just like AMP reported it. But who knows what the game "thinks" at times?[:D]
