The north VH are ours already. The south will be in our hands real soon. 2 of the south cluster are. This is where the heaviest fighting is going on. A large colum of tanks has been destroyed there. Although the north in comparison has been lightly attacked. It too had a small colum of tanks attack there. It seems my tatic of holding off the middle attack until the north and south were engaged, has worked very well. Evidently when i took the north and south VH it pulled a lot of the enemys forces there. The middle sector has just begun to climb the west side of the hill overlooking there objectives. They so far have met next to nothing in enemy strenth. We will know soon enogh after they crest the hill and look down on there objectives. The north and south have fired on a couple of tanks moving to the center. But not much there besides some Motercycles and transport trucks. Which have been destroyed from long distance by north and south fire. We have had some losses but not like last month against the germans. Thank heaven for this. Maybe after this battle we will have a couple of months off. This will give us time to repair and upgrade some equipment maybe. We should get some replacements for our men too. The battle last month really depleted our strength for this one. The enemy has started to retreat already. There is wide spread panic and a mad scramble to get away. Our bombardment of the rear VH has resulted in heavy losses for them. The only problem is our guns are already depleting there supply of ammo. I will have to lift the constant harrassment of them very soon. We will very soon have all the front objectives and begin our move on the rear ones. Here is to a speedy finish to this battle and to the war. I would sure like to be home in Manchester with my family and friends. Ive been fighting since early 1940 and here it is already the middle of 1941. This madness surely cant last much longer. Commander Royal British Forces: Nick Beal
